ELEANOR MASON RAMSEY, PH.D.

President & CEO

Eleanor Mason Ramsey, Ph.D. holds a doctorate degree in anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley and a baccalaureate degree from Hunter College in New York City. As president of Mason Tillman, Dr. Ramsey works directly with all staff, encouraging each member to contribute actively to the thoroughness and quality of our studies. Dr. Ramsey has more than 30 years of experience in core affirmative action services. She has evaluated and designed Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) programs for cities, transportation departments, public school districts, airports, states, and, counties. Dr. Ramsey has conducted essential research that fosters the creation of M/WBE and DBE programs that meet judicial review standards and that are compliant with local and federal DBE regulations. Her in-depth knowledge of equity programs allows her to formulate effective public outreach efforts, policy recommendations, and implement programs that result in the betterment of M/WBE and DBE utilization in contracting practices nationwide.

 

Dr. Ramsey was married to the late Judge Henry Ramsey. Together, Dr. and Judge Ramsey have two daughters, four sons, seven granddaughters, and one grandson. In addition to being a champion for diversity and inclusion, Dr. Ramsey is an avid world traveler, devoted grandmother, and committed community servant. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Oakland African American Chamber of Commerce.
